[Mordred Le Fey]

Mordred was pretty pleased with the house he'd been assigned.  Two bedrooms, decent bathroom, kitchen (not that it was likely he'd ever use that), and a good sized, comfortable sitting room, complete with sofa, two armchairs, decent sized television and fireplace.  And it seemed he had the whole place to himself, which was even better - no one to disturb, or rather, no one to disturb him.  No one to give him judgy looks or comment on his drinking or recreational drug use.  No need for a tie on the door when he brought a girl home.

This was going to be perfect.

Currenty, Mordred was stretched out on the sofa, cushion under his head and feet hanging over the arm, book in hand.  Today's reading matter of choice was The Once and Future King, and learning all about his band of followers apparently called 'The Thrashers'.  He had decided her particularly liked that name, even if he wasn't as keen on the fact that he was apparently blonde and pale and 'almost an albino' in this book...  Thanks a lot, T.H. White...

Apparently he had brothers though...  this book had got it so wrong.  It was entertaining, and certainly giving him so ideas, but it was so far off base it was funny.  He was enjoying the read, and as he lay on the sofa reading and laughing to himself, the room was becoming cloudier and cloudier as he chain-vaped.

Yep, living alone was definitely the way forward.

Aiden was looking forward to living in a house and not a dorm. In fact, she hated living in a dorm so much that she considered moving back home for a second. A second which quickly passed when she remembered the last time she had to drive her parents to the ER for particularly private reasons. Still the dorms were awful too. You couldn't walk a step in any direction without running into someone or something. Aiden needed time to herself to recharge, but finding privacy in a shared dorm was a near impossible task. Not to mention you could hear everything always. So moving to a house was the least terrible decision. The school had a placement program. She supposed you could probably choose someone to live with, but Aiden didn't often make friends, so she didn't mind getting thrown in with someone random. She could handle herself if she had too. With any luck she'd get some quite girl and they could just stay in their rooms and never talk and everything would be perfect. She didn't have a whole lot of hope for that, but even if it was some crazy girl, Aiden wasn't shy in standing her ground.

Finally the day had arrived. She didn't bring a lot of stuff, she wasn't very sentimental. Or, rather, she didn't like to seem sentimental. She had an army green duffel over one shoulder and rolled a back suitcase behind her. The luggage seemed to swallow her small frame, but Aiden was a dancer and hauled it rather easily. A battered baseball cap kept the sun out of her eyes and a tee shirt and jeans kept her comfortable. Moving in was always a lot of work, but her creative side loved the idea of making a space her own. She walked to the door and threw her duffel on the ground. She fumbled in her pocket for the key the office gave her and cursed when it fell on the ground. Upon retrieving it she noticed the tag. It had her name along with another: Mordred. The office had mentioned the name. What kind of name was that anyway? She assumed it was foreign or something. Sounded emo. She put the key in the lock and it twisted with a little difficulty. She picked up her duffel bag and kicked open the door gently in order to enter.

Her blue eyes imminently landed on a guy laying on the sofa. A guy? It took Aiden a moment to realize that of course Mordred was a dude's name. She noticed that he wasn't ugly, though she didn't dwell on it. She stared at him for a moment. Unsure of what to say. Living with a dude could be fine. Her parents wouldn't like it, but they really couldn't do anything about it. Ok, so it was settled, no turning back now. She could handle it. She walked through the threshold and kicked the door closed behind her suitcase.

"Mordred." she finally managed, though it wasn't a question. Who else could it be? She really hoped she didn't just invite herself into some random persons home.

The sound of a key scrabbling in the lock of his front door interrupted Mordred's daydream of leading a band of thugs called 'Thrashers' and storming the Great Hall of Camelot. Unimpressed, and slightly confused - had he given his key to someone in a drunken haze already? - he looked up and squinted through the clouds of vape as the door opened and someone crossed the threshold with a bag and a suitcase.

A bag and a suitcase. That was what you brought if you were moving in somewhere. But this was Mordred's house... this was his man cave. One room for sleeping, one room for - everything else. He didn't have a roommate...

As he heard his name, he looked the newcomer over. Hang on... that was a girl. That was a girl, with a bag and a suitcase, and a key to his house. That was a girl, with a bag, a suitcase and a key to his house, who was actually not unattractive. And she knew his name. He frowned slightly, racking his brain, trying to remember if he'd met her before, if maybe she was a one night stand who had believed his declarations of love and being together forever.

No... he was pretty sure he'd remember this one if that was the case. And he'd gotten better at that - Tristian had been helpful in making sure he didn't give his house key to random girls.

Still laying on the sofa, book open on his chest, he stared at the girl. "Well, it appears I'm at a disadvantage. You know my name, but I haven't got a clue who you are or why you have a key to my house...?"

Aiden was hoping he'd point her to her room and the conversation could end. Instead he seemed confused. Aiden squinted her eyes slightly, examining him. It was a little foggy in here, maybe he was high and forgot that getting roommates was how living in campus housing worked. Just because it wasn't a dorm didn't mean you got the place to yourself, just, usually, a room. She lightened her gaze, realizing he hadn't been entirely rude. She had no real reason to be rude back. She shifted her weight uncomfortably, to be honest she was much more comfortable fighting than awkward small talk.

"Yeah." She explained "They gave it to me at the office." She took a pause then realized that probably wasn't enough info if he had no idea why she was there. "If you don't pick a roommate they pick one for you."

Honestly, Aiden assumed it would be a girl, but she wasn't sure why. she supposed the higher ups would be stricter about co-ed living or something. She didn't mind, this just wasn't what she was prepared for. Aiden liked to be prepared. She shifted again. Hoping she could head to her room now.

The office had given her a key. The office had given her, a girl, a key to his, a guy's, house. A girl had a key to the house already occupied by him, a guy. The office had screwed up royally.

But he wasn't going to complain.

Swinging his legs off the sofa and putting his book on the coffee table, he leaned forward and studied her with an eyebrow raised. "So you're my house-mate?" He asked with a note of amusement in his voice. "Well, looked like I lucked out. Who knew the powers that be in this place were so progressive."

He stood up, the cloud of vapour starting to dissipate, and moved around the coffee table towards her. "Let me help you with your bags, erm..." He realised he still didn't know her name. "I guess if we're living together I ought to know your name?" He flashed her his most charming smile.

She felt like his first question was already clearly answered so she simply looked around and turned one of her palms upward as if to say "yeah, was that not clear?" She really hoped she wasn't about to be living with a complete idiot. She would get tired real tired of explaining everything all the time. If it wasn't already clear, Aiden didn't have a lot of patience. However, she was trying to give him a chance. They've hardly exchanged a few words, she could do to be a little less damn judgmental.

His next tagline caused her to tilt her head a bit in suspicion. Lucked out how exactly? She was no stranger to getting hit on, but she wasn’t interesting in any of that crap with her housemate. In fact she wasn’t interested in any of that since a certain viking decided monster hunting was more important that obsessively trying to love her. Not that she would have ever actually loved him back, that was crazy talk. Whatever, it didn’t matter. She was getting derailed.

She caught the word “progressive” between her bitter reminiscing and couldn’t help but agree on a base level. She wouldn’t have expected the school to have her living with someone of the opposite gender. Now it was possible that they assumed she was a guy too. Aiden was one of those names. Either way, this could be good. Girls could be catty and horrific, she should know, and if this guy turned out to be awful, she could tell the office there was a mistake. What could go wrong?

When he stood up she became away of his height compared to hers. Despite being taller than her mother, Aiden was still only about 5’4”. She watched him lazily, keeping up an expression and careful indifference, just incase he tried something. Turns out he was still keen on being nice. Aiden was almost a little shook. Sure he could still be trying to get into her pants, but, given his appearance, she was figuring a more direct approach.

”I can handle it” she said simply, keeping her bags close. Despite her short words, there was an air of courtesy about them. She wasn’t entirely ungrateful for the offer, but Aiden didn’t often accept help. Not to mention, she had to look up at him to say so and she was feeling a little like she needed to prove something.

”It’s Aiden.” she said, feeling dumb that she forgot to mention it before. She didn’t return the smile, still unsure of his intentions.

"Of course, just trying to be a gentleman." Mordred smiled as she held her bag closer. "Just say the word and I can leave all gentlemanliness at the door." He joked, wondering how things were going to go with this particular housemate situation. There were basically two options - either they did it and it was horrendously awkward, or they didn't and they got on fine.

Either option was fine with Mordred, if he was honest.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Aiden. Let me give you the grand tour," He gestured around him. "This is the living room, as you can see, and the kitchen is through there. I doubt I'll be using it all that much." He grinned as he pointed through a door. "Upstairs we've got your basic bathroom and two bedroom set up - do you want me to show you to your room?" He asked politely - something most unlike him, and which wouldn't last long.

He was going to have to move his expensive whiskey and bourbon collection into his bedroom. No way he was sharing that unless this girl turned out to be someone really special.

Well this was going...ok. I mean he hadn't turned out to be an asshole yet, but there was something odd about his politeness that made Aiden unsteady. Perhaps she just wasn't used to guys that looked like him being polite. Not just attractive men, but guys that came off...guys who seemed...how could she put it? Guys who vaped. Aiden didn't want to seem overly judgmental, but, lets face it, she was. She didn't have anything particularly against vaping in general, but she'd had some annoying run ins with guys that did it to achieve a certain look.

She parted her lips when he mentioned leaving his curtsy at the door, thinking she might do just that. But, it was still early to attack. Jesus, why did she just want to fight everyone all the time. Maybe it was just her extra build up of rage lately, given the boy who shall no longer be mentioned if she could help it.

The grand tour, eh? Actually the place was pretty nice. The fireplace made her feel fancy. Her parents were very successful, but Aiden wasn't much into mooching off them to an absurd degree. She followed his gestures with her eyes and leaned over a bit to see into the kitchen. She wasn't much of a cook herself. She wondered, however, which cabinet would be best to put her liqueur. She gave Mordred a glance and figured he probably wasn't going to have much to say about her day drinking. This may just be the start of something good.

She raised an eyebrow when he offered to show her to her room. Avoiding help would have been ideal, but seeing as she'd never been here before, having him lead the way may be the only option. Upstairs. Aiden was strong, but carrying a large duffel and a suitcase up a flight of stairs was a undertaking for anyone.

"Upstairs, huh?" she sigh. "Well then I take back what I previously said about being able to handle it." She offered him the black suitcase, both hoping the offer hadn't expired and inadvertently answering his question. Yes, she would like to see her room. She kept the duffel for....reasons. She shifted it and two bottles clanged together quietly.

He was struggling to read her - she said nothing as he showed her around the small house, and wasn't giving any signals about... well, anything. Not that he minded, Mordred enjoyed a challenge.

He smiled charmingly when she asked for help, and graciously took the suitcase from her and began to lead the way upstairs. At the sound of the bottles in her bag, he smiled to himself - perhaps she might end up being half decent company after all.

He was still going to put his liquor in his own room though.

He reached the top of the stairs and opened the door to her room, gesturing inside and standing aside to let her pass. "Welcome to your new digs," He smiled as he followed her inside and placed the suitcase at the foot of the unmade bed. "You have all your basic amenities, bed, cupboards, drawers," He indicated around the room as he spoke. "Bathroom is down the hall on the left. The other room is, obviously, mine. You are welcome to visit me in my room at any time - I do have a no pants rule though." He smirked at her, waiting for a reaction, and taking a drag on his vape, exhaling a cloud into the room.

Aiden caught the smile in response to the sound of bottles in her bag. Despite her best efforts to not care, the sound made her heart jump and she instinctively honed in on him in the corner of her eye. Perhaps this was a habit she had picked up from home. It’s not that her parent’s didn’t drink, but they very seldom needed too. This was very untrue for Aiden and she didn’t want them to worry. She had snuck liquor into her room back home before she’d even been enrolled her. Not to mention, if she was going to live with this person, she’d rather not they say crazy things like “you shouldn’t drink.” However, Thankfully, he did not. He smiled. Aiden’s mouth twitched as a tiny bit of appreciation warmed her soul.

Once they’d reached the room, Aiden followed his gestures once again with her gaze. She said nothing when he pointed out the bathroom and cupboards and the like. Then he mentioned the bed. She stared at it for a moment, then her eyes narrowed slowly. She pursed her lips, but couldn’t keep a bit of amusement out of her face. How was it that this bed was unmade? No one had lived with him before her, that much was obvious. He wouldn’t have lead her to his room and then mentioned that his room was somewhere else if he was trying to trick her. Either he had a weird thing about sleeping in other people’s bed or he’d been using this as his sex bed. Maybe it was just Aiden’s mind doing dirty things, but that was the only logical explanation given all the data she’d gotten so far.

She blinked through the cloud of vape, a bit annoyed, though she had to admit it smelled nice. He was fishing for a reaction. She supposed she could, for the sake of politeness, provide one.

”No pants rule, huh?” she said, raising an eyebrow and holding back a smirk. ”Listen, don’t have sex in my room anymore.” she said plainly, though there was a twinkle of amusement in her eye. What kind of kinky crap could this guy be into? He looked like he'd be into something weird. ”You can have orgies in your room, that’s fine.” she said lightly, gesturing in the general direction where she assumed his room must be. ”But this is my sex room now.” She concluded, throwing her duffel inside and desperately hoping there was somewhere she could wash the sheets.

She was perceptive, he'd give her that. If he'd known he was being given a housemate he'd have changed the bedsheets... well, no, he wouldn't but he might have made it slightly less obvious what he'd been getting up to. He couldn't help but grin as she spoke, and leaned back against the doorframe as he listened.

"Orgies... now there's an idea..." He winked at her, impressed by her declaration of the room being 'her sex room now'. She seemed like she was going to be a pretty cool housemate. "If I do have that orgie, you are of course more than welcome to join." He grinned.

"So, Aiden," He began, taking another drag on the vape and exhaling slowly, watching her. "Ground rules for a happy house." He put on a serious face and crossed his arms. "If we're going to live together there are some rules you're going to have to follow. Number 1," he held up one finger. "Don't leave your girly crap strewn around the place. Keep it in here where I never have to see it and we'll get along fine." He held up a second finger. "Number 2: If you are planning to have a tonne of sex - which I have no problem with, and actively encourage - tell them to put pants on before they start wandering around the house. I don't want to come out for breakfast and be confronted with a sausage I wasn't counting on." He thought for a moment. "Unless guys aren't your thing, in which case the rule is null and void." He grinned at her. "That's it. I'm pretty easy going." He winked at her.

"How thoughtful" Aiden cheered, sarcastically. She rolled her eyes, but couldn't resist a smirk. There weren't many people she could just casually mention an orgy to and have them just roll with it. She thought maybe this would be it. The end of the conversation. That they'd make an orgy joke and then they'd part ways. She was eager to start throwing her stuff around the room and call it unpacking. Wasn't "keep all orgies to your own room" rules enough. Alas, it didn't seem so. Just when Aiden was starting to like him, he got all serious. Ugh, here we go. "don't leave your dishes in the sink," or "don't leave trash everywhere." Blah blah blah, Aiden wasn't an idiot. She couldn't be trusted to not leave trash everywhere, but she knew she wasn't supposed to. He took another hit on his vape, deepening her annoyance over what was coming. He could at the very least be polite and offer her a hit if he was expecting her to listen to these stupid rules.

Turns out, he had other rules in mind. Aiden's eyebrows shot up into he air and she imminently had to bite her lip to hold back a laugh. Girly stuff?! What was that supposed to mean?! Aiden already knew her girl stuff was only going to be where he could see it. Then he moved onto sex and Aiden tried to pretend she was taking it seriously. Furrowing her brow and nodding along. Yes, sir. She thought. Of course, sir. In reality she was still stuck on the "girly stuff."

By the time he'd finished, Aiden had pressed her hands together and placed them on her lips. She was carefully calculating how to proceed with a dangerous look in her eyes. They were gonna have fun together, she could tell. She tipped her hands forward first.

"No surprise sausages." She said, as if to clarify. She placed her prayer hands back to her lips. But girls being naked is fine, of course. she thought, trying not to roll her eyes.

"Ok." She began, a little too gleefully. She brought her hands down, a decision finally made. "So what if I bring a guy and a girl home at the same time? You're telling me I have to tell one of them to put pants on, but the other is fine?" She said with a mocking impression of genuine concern. "That doesn't seem very fair."

Well, now that was a head-scratcher. His initial reaction was to say yes, of course - pants for the guys, girls were fine without. But then... she had a point. That wasn't fair. After all, if he had was the better part of a threesome (obviously), he would be pretty put out if he was told he had to get dressed to leave the room, if the girls didn't. And who was he to deny anyone the view of his own surprise sausage? And, with that in mind, could he rely deny someone else that same feeling?

Actually, yes. Yes he could.

Hang on - he had the perfect solution. He grinned at Aiden, thoroughly pleased at his own solution to her problem.

"There's no need to bring a girl and a guy home." He smirked. "If you're into that, I'll give you my number. Find a girl, give me a call and I'll be here for your every need. Then no one has to worry about the pants issue." He grinned at her, smug in his response.

Aiden blinked a few times, trying to metabolize his boldness. A sort of impressed smile was stuck on her face and she was too lost in thinking of a comeback to fix it. She wasn't sure if she wasn't expecting him to keep up with her, or if she simply wasn't expecting him to take what she had said and make it dirtier. She had to admit, it was a little hot, but Aiden didn't make it a practice to have sex with people she was forced to see again. Every day. For who knows how long. No, it was out of the question.

She pursed her lips and bit her check to regain her composure. "I feel like, I'm still a little worried about it." She said, returning to her feigned seriousness. "Because you're assuming that I want to see you without pants" She returned, breezily. "I'll tell you what." she said, with the prowess of making a deal he couldn't refuse. "I'll still take that number, and I'll be sure to let you know when there might be some extra sausage around the house. That way it's not a surprise" She said, fluttering her eyes innocently. Wow, she was so considerate. And, after all, he wasn't the only one allowed to make rules. This was her house too. She didn't plan to let him forget it.

Oh she was good. She could give as good as she got, and that was incredibly attractive to Mordred. But, he thought to himself, sleeping with his housemate probably wasn't the best idea he'd ever had, no matter how tempting or good it might be. No, better to just enjoy the flirting and the banter - for now at least. I mean, it wasn't like they were going to live together forever, he thought to himself.

"Who wouldn't want to see me without pants?" He asked with a wink. "Believe me, it's a hell of a view."

He gave her his number, and nodded at her compromise. "That seems fair." He grinned. "I think this might be the start of a beautiful friendship." He said with a grin.

He stood in the doorway, making his way out of her room. "I'll let you get settled in then. Maybe we can toast our new alliance later. Sounds like you're good for it," He smiled, gesturing her duffel bag before heading out of the door and back downstairs to his book.
