Standing in the centre of the ballroom, Lottie took one last look around before nodding her head in satisfaction. Everything had been professionally and meticulously set up, under her own personal supervision of course, and the place looked amazing, if she did say so herself. There was plenty of appropriately creepy food, lots of seating for people to chat or get cozy, and still lots of room to dance.

A feat that might be a little difficult in her chosen costume. After trying on pretty much everything in the store, from a mermaid to a French Maid, Lottie had gone for her first instinct and picked out a beautiful fairy princes costume, because who didn’t want to be both a fairy AND a princess?

Then she had decided to do some research and really get into the spirit of things while planning the whole shindig, and once she had seen the designs for the decorations she new that something so light and fluffy just wouldn’t do! She had to be daring, mysterious, maybe even a little bit scary... but still beautiful of course. But what could possibly fit that bill?

Watching The Addams Family sealed the deal. Morticia Addams was beautiful, sexy, but still creepy. It was perfect!

Too bad the dress didn’t allow for much movement. Oh well, at least she looked good. Taking short steps in the confining dress, she crossed the room and, after signaling for the music to start, threw open the doors.

Giselle was really quite proud of her costume. She knew that Halloween was supposed to be scary and she wanted to be something scary so she decided to be a zombie. She to say she looked quite dreadful. And that was the point so it was alright to say that she looked quite dreadful! She was really quite pleased that she looked so dreadful! This was going to be so much fun! Her dress was ripped and her hair was a mess and she had fake blood everywhere and she looked…well dead!

This was so exciting! She had never been to a Halloween party before and now she was here and she was very excited about this party. It just sounded like so much fun so of course she was right on time! As she stepped into the ballroom she looked around in awe and wonderment. Everything looked just lovely! It was all so wonderful! She didn’t know where to look first, so she just stood there in the entrance way just taking everything in.

The first person to roll in the doors, and it was literarlly rolling, was none other than his Scottish highness Prince Gawain of the Orkneys, although on a Sunday it was Prince Herman of the Hebrides. For the occasion he had thought it best to consult his cousin as to what outfit might be the most suitable, and found him to be most unhelpful. Apparently he wanted him to go as something called a hobbit which would require big hairy feet and walking on his knees for most of the evening. However as he had wandered around Arthur’s room he had looked at some of the posters and DVD’s and decided to borrow some of them to get an idea of what to wear. After watching the move he decided that Professor Charles Xavier was definitely the most awesome out of all the mutants and decided that that would be his costume.

His choice had nothing to do with the fact that if he got too drunk it would be easy enough for another to get him back home and there would be no embarrassing falling down on tripping over things. It also meant that down the sides of it he had managed to conceal little flasks of alcohol to smuggle in for the aforementioned binge drinking. AND to make things even better, sitting down in the chair give him the perfect eyeline for the most wonderful feature on most people, their arses.

He was currently being pushed along by his best fried, who of course took his advice on his costume instead of Arthur who was standing beside them looking quite glum that they hadn’t dressed accordingly.

“Och cheer up Artie,” said Gawain poking him in the side, “we’ll do yer lord of the rings thing another time.”

He looked back at Lance and said, “Right, bucket head, wheel me over to the dark haired witch, she’s cast a spell on me already.”

[Arthur]

Arthur was not happy.

He had spent hours on his costume, getting the colours right, the fabric, he had consulted many pictures, he had watched the movie a million times until finally he had been satisfied with the outcome. Ok so he hadn’t done much of the sewing but he had supervised quite a lot of it and offered lots of opinions which he was sure Gwen was very happy to have, after all, she had only slapped him once. Although there had been that one day where she nearly threw the sewing machine at him. That hadn’t been fun. But even if he did say so himself, the costume looked brilliant.

Except it looked slightly ridiculous when none of the others were wearing theirs.

Looking down at Gawain he glared and said, “If I knew we were doing X-men then I would have done my Archangel or my Cyclops outfit. Now I just…look like an idiot!”

He looked around the room as Gawain started nattering on about some witch or other, his words getting him thinking about the other magical person that should be attending this evening…

Gwen, due to Prince Arthur the Annoying one of Camelot, hadn’t had much time to put together a costume for the ball, not after spending a week slaving over a sewing machine making leggings and tunics from scratch, because apparently it had to be ‘authentic’. Luckily for her, Arthur hadn’t been completely idle while she made her costume and as a thank you had bought her some ‘True Blood’ memorabilia, most of which she was currently wearing. She pulled it off quite well she thought, the high ponytail, the shorts and the apron, she’d even fake tanned herself up a bit just so she looked a little bit more like the actress in the show. It turned out alright.

Before entering the hall however they decided to all do a quick check of their costumes in the bathroom just to make sure everything was alright. Making sure the ponytail was in the place she called back to her ‘date’ for the evening who was currently in the cubical, “Come on Merlin! I’m sure the seams of your tights are just lovely.”

Turning to the girl on her right she said, “Honestly, he can be as bad as me sometimes. He takes ages to get ready for anything.”

[Anastasia]

Anya really had no intention of attending this party, but ever since she had met that Arthur guy and that Gwen girl they had been encouraging her to attend, they said it would be good for her, and since she was lacking in the friends department she could see why that might be a good idea. The Princess had picked her up along with another young man whom she hadn’t met before, however in the car Gwen managed to explain his entire life story, so Anya was pretty sure she knew everything about him now, and him her.

She looked at Gwen in the mirror and laughed, just a little nervously, “Well, if what you told me is right, he just wants to looks his best in case he bumps into his crush.”

Anya hadn’t been told who this ‘crush’ was but figured whoever it was, was a mutual friend of the two and didn’t sound to be altogether too nice. Merlin seemed to insult them more than praise them, as did Gwen, so Anya didn’t quite understand why exactly Merlin liked this person.

She fixed the policewoman’s hat she was wearing and said, “Thanks again for letting me borrow this.”

She hadn’t exactly come to Trenale with a lot, mostly just the clothes she was wearing, and so Gwen had kindly provided her with a costume from the very large wardrobe in her apartment. Arthur, who had also been there at the time, couldn’t apparently stop giggling at the idea that she would be wearing this, continuing to say the name ‘Amy Pond’ over and over again. She had no idea who Amy Pond was but apparently she was her double and apparently she wore a policewoman’s outfit.

Plum was quite fond of parties, though Halloween had never been her favorite holiday. She preferred Christmas herself, though she didn’t celebrate the religious aspect of it. She really just enjoyed the festivities and the giving gifts. Halloween however was quite fun. She appreciated the dressing up aspect of the holiday and its origins in Pagan tradition. As the ruler of a small kingdom it was her duty to go and mingle and such events. Plus she wanted to keep an eye out for Roger if he decided to come. Or even William if he came. She wasn’t sure if either would attend, but if they did she most certainly wanted to be there.

Her costume was not terribly creative. She was merely a witch and that was a fairly standard Halloween costume. Honestly she just hadn’t felt up to putting any thought into a costume. Her life was crazy enough that deciding on something simple, if not mundane, was good enough for her.

So she donned the witch costume and made her way to the party. She was impressed with the decorations. Everything looked lovely and very much in the Halloween spirit. One thing was for certain; Miss Lottie certainly knew how to throw a party.

Like Eric was going to say no to a good party, least of all a Halloween party. I mean, you didn't have the trick or treating back at home, but there was a nice masquerade ball, which was great if...you liked...Grimsby trying to set you up. Besides, it was mostly just wearing the fancier clothes and masks then, and Max wasn't allowed to be there, because if she had been let out of Eric's room, there would have been a lot of dirty, formerly priceless dresses. You know, now that he thought of it, he wasn't the biggest fan of those parties, and so upon discovering that people actually dressed in real costumes (because honestly, Eric was the only one who didn't dress similarly to that every day, so no, he did not see them as real costumes) and had parties with music that (no offense to the classics, after all, they brought music to where it is today, pretty much) you didn't have to switch to a classical radio station to hear regularly, he was all. Over. That.

And right now? Grim would probably be facepalming from embarrassment if he could see that the boy who was like a son to him was adjusting the collar of his leather T-Birds jacket and then running his hand over his now quite gelled hair before he all but danced into the ballroom, while still keeping an eye on Max. In fact, why not give her a little show? He remembered teaching her have to "dance" a bit when she was a dog, and she always seemed excited when he himself danced.

"I got chi-i-ills, they're multiplyin'! And I'm looooos-ing contro-ol! 'Cause the power, you're supplyin'? It's electrifyin'!" he sang, hamming it up as much as he damn well pleased, and once that was done, he let out a laugh, clapping his hands. Was it perhaps not the smartest idea to let Max come with him? Well...actually, come on. He was going to keep his best eye on her, and this was an enclosed space, unlike the park. What kind of trouble could really happen so long as he told her to not lick people?

"What do you think, Max? Pretty awesome, isn't it?" he asked, motioning around the very well decorated ballroom. He was definitely liking this better than any of Estiland's parties.

Lottie jumped back from the door when the first person who entered showed up in bloody rags, ratty hair and disgusting make-up. Holding a hand to her heart, she took a breath and let it out audibly.

“You just about gave me a heart attack!” she said before offering a smile to the first guest. While looking rather scary and disgusting, Giselle didn’t look all that upset about being “dead”. In fact, she just stared around in wonderment, which was just the reaction Lottie had been hoping for. Beaming, she carefully took the girl’s arm and led her away from the door before she could get run over by the bald guy that was wheeled in behind her. Of course Lottie herself hadn’t taken the time to learn what everyone was dressing as; she’d charmed some twelve year old kid into checking names off the guest list at the front door. He was supposed to let her know once all her confirmed guests had arrived so the costume contest could begin.

“Now go on in and mingle!” she finished, pushing Giselle toward the centre of the room. The last thing she needed right now was to get stuck chattering with that loon. She had more guests to greet!

Max had never been allowed to go to a party before. Grimsby always said no. But Max always tried to be a very good dog. If she had been allowed to go to parties she wouldn’t have jumped on everyone, just people. But she wouldn’t mean to get them angry at her. She loved people.

But Master said Max could come to this party. It was okay for Max to go to this party. It was a costume party and Master had gotten her a costume. He said it was an Indian princess costume. And he had brushed her fur and put a funny feather in her hair because that’s was Indian princesses wore. That’s what Master said. Max liked her costume. It was nice.

Max liked Master’s costume too. And she really liked when he started to sing. Master was good at singing and it was very exciting when he started to sing! Max bounced excitedly. She loved when Master sang and danced for her. She barked excitedly. Even Master liked when he sang and danced! This was going to be a fun party.

“Max like!” she told Master excitedly. “Never been to party! Fun!” She was going to have lots of fun, she just didn’t know where to go first! There were so many people! And food! This was going to be so much fun!

Giselle was looking around at all the of the wonderful Halloween decorations and she was quite startled when someone spoke to her. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten anyone,” she told Lottie, concerned, though she was a little pleased that her costume was scary. She had tried very hard to make it a little scary because Halloween was all about scary. “But you look wonderful,” she told Lottie. Her costume really was quite scary and very much a Halloween costume.

She let Lottie lead her into the room and away from the door. She didn’t know where to start first. Maybe she should start by mingling, like Lottie said. “Oh, thank you, I will!” she called back to the other girl as she kept walking towards the center of the room. She couldn’t wait until Bartok got here because he was going to be a zombie too! And then they could be zombies together and wouldn’t that just be so fun?

"I can't believe I let you talk me into this, this is a really bad idea," was the first thing that came out of Della's mouth as soon as this little kid who probably needed his Mommy to watch a PG 13 movie, let alone deal with half of the people at this school let them in. Considering the fact that Della had known just how horrible of an idea it was to come to any event orchestrated by the school, least of all on Halloween, she had gone all out with her costume. Her red hair was covered up by a jet black wig that had two skinny braids going down below her shoulders, and she was looking distinctly paler than usual. Not to mention the black dress. She was unmistakably an Addams...you know, for now at least. And if anyone actually had to ask (which was also likely, there were several pop culture illiterate students around here, not that it was any of their faults), she'd just go with Christina Ricci's deadpan 'I'm a homicidal maniac. They look like everyone else,' reply...

But still! This was a really frakking bad idea!

"You weren't here for the worst of it! I was stranded in a haunted house with Arthur, and he was dressed as Edward Cullen and there were real ghosts! God only knows what'll happen this year! The only reason I came was to protect you!"

It also helped that Della was armed and ready in case the zombie apocalypse decided to happen oh so clichedly at this Halloween party or something like that. But still, she was not at all sure about this, even if she adored Halloween. It was just wrong that she had to choose the safety of staying at home all day, preferably with boarded doors...you know, except that her roommate, best friend, and the future of Wonderland just had to insist on going.

Alyss had been hearing something like this ever since last week when they discovered that a Charlotte LaBouff was holding a Halloween party. See, Alyss had never really been to one of these sorts of Halloween parties before, and last year she had been far too depressed. Seeing as she had, as of late, felt like she had a whole new lease on life, somehow, she thought it best to take advantage of things like this. After all, it sounded like fun, and Della seemed to have fond memories of Halloween...except, apparently, when Tintagel was involved.

The princess let out a sigh, brushing a white curl out of her forehead (apparently wigs could be just as unruly as one's real hair) and answered, "While I understand your concern, things are different now. My Imagination's gotten stronger and you...well, you can actually make a pretty good shot with that bow and arrow...you really had to go for an authentic one, didn't you? Anyway, we can handle this, I'm sure of it."

Della then proceeded to mutter something about how overconfidence usually spells death in horror films. "Della, please? Neither of us have been socializing enough as of yet and I really think this could be fun. Just relax a little bit, if only so I don't get nervous as well."

Upon persuading the girl, she smiled, then glanced around. "Let's see...I'm sure there are people we know here..."

"Better just you looking like an idiot than all three of us." Lancelot grinned at Arthur, although thinking about it he probably couldn't talk since he basically had a bucket on his head - as Gawain reminded him when he started demanding where to go.

"You can wheel yourself, mate, I'm not pushing you around all night." he said, nudging the wheelchair with his foot. He was sure it wouldn't make any difference to Gawain, he'd probably end up using it for sympathy, convincing some pretty young thing that his terrible friend wouldn't push him around just for this one night. He was such a rubbish knight.

Bedivere was very excited about this party, it was the first time he'd been to a party since he started teaching at the school - the Carnival didn't quite count, that was different - and he was looking forward to seeing his students having some fun, letting their hair down (within reasonable decent parameters of course).

He rather liked his costume as well, Arthur had been in charge of recommending all the little bits and pieces he was supposed to carry with him, but generally he was quite pleased with it because it wasn't much different to what he usually wore, and the shoes were terribly comfortable.

He spotted Arthur as he walked in and made a beeline for him.
"Arthur!" He greeted cheerfully "How do I look? Do I make a good.. ah.. Doctor?"
